KCAcademy was created from Chereth's passion and determination to provide her own daughter with a quality education and the lack of options for all kids with Special Needs.  Chereth has spent her life working with children and believes that each child should be empowered to reach their highest potential.

This is my 3rd year teaching at KCA, and I am so grateful for each day here.  KCA is one of my life’s greatest blessings, and I count it great joy to be with your children each day.  I am looking forward to another great year with all of you.
I graduated from McNeese State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education/Elementary Education. I have taught in public, private, online, and homeschool settings. My  husband, Shane, and I have 3 children – Megan (22), Evan (19), and Leah (12).

My husband, Kevin, and I have been married 27 years. We have two children - Ainsley (20) and Ian (17). We are beginning the 20th year, and the last, of homeschooling. Our baby is a senior! What a joy to see them excel in higher education. It makes all the blood, sweat, and tears worth it. I love spending time with my family. With older children and all of us having different schedules, it makes our time together even more precious.
My work experience has been eclectic over the years. The majority of my work has been in the dental field, wedding industry, and home education in various settings.
This is my 3rd year  with KCA. I team teach with Melissa Robertson in two different classes. I teach ELA, spelling, and Edmark reading. What a wonderful opportunity it is to teach at KCA, and I find joy in doing so! Also, I find joy knowing the effort put into our students may lay the foundation for a bright future.

Her passion for giving all children the best possible future will add so much to our school. Christy’s sweet smile and caring heart will be the first one you see as you enter KCA!
